The Thomas Foundation, based in British Columbia Canada, was funded and incorporated by its Chairman Peter Thomas and his family in 1990. It is a public foundation that primarily supports the activities of charities catering to children, mental health, and education in Canada. Since the year 2000, the Foundation has contributed over $2 Million to community charities and foundations.

Education

Since 2007, the Thomas Foundation has been thrilled to support two educational grant programs:

The Coast Foundation educational grants help youth under the age of 35, who suffer from a mental illness and who are Coast Foundation members, to achieve their life goals and reach their highest personal potential through educational assistance.

The Power To Be educational grants support and encourage a Power To Be Wilderness School youth to become a values-based leader in our community. The school supports at risk youths during a time frame of five years, from age 12 to 17. During the five years, the youths learn the necessary values, communications and leadership skills to effectively integrate into society, and more importantly, to make a positive contribution.
